After the War ended, Thiepval was chosen as the location for the Memorial to the Missing to commemorate those who died in the Somme sector before the 20th of March 1918 and have no known grave. This is the largest and most imposing of the Memorials to the Missing.

When I went there the weather was really bad!
The wind was really strong and was blowing snow and slush at us sidways lol!
I love the colours of the leaves in this photo, it looks like the weather was much nicer when you went :D

Yes, I often find that there's quite strong winds at the battlefields, it can be freezing! The weather wasn't too bad, just cold. Thanks for the comment :D

Yeah, the whole time we were there the wetaher was going from sunshine to rain and wind then back again nearly every half hour. It was annoying because you'd be walking along and then suddenly be in a downpour of rain and slush lol!
